Mushroom mallets were designed in collaboration between Chalklin and Bell. At the time it was felt there was a requirement in the market for a different style of vibraphone mallet. The core of each Mushroom mallets is rubber, shaped like a mushroom but with an additional metal weight which gives a greater shaft head balance. Like the Rich Tone mallets, the centre is then
