Kimekomi dolls are made by carving grooves into a base made of paulownia clay and dressing them in beautiful costumes. Komainu is meant to ward off evil and was originally placed in pairs on either side of the shrine's hall of worship. We thought it would be nice to name them "Shiro," "Kuro," and "Charo" so that they
