Christine Johnson 'Memento' organic & textural which is often set inChristine Johnston is a highly accomplished artist. Her work is inspired by nature, gardens and the movement of time and light. Indeed, there is something of the 18th century Enlightenment counter movement, Romanticism, to her work. She seeks to reunite the viewer with the power of nature, to remind you of its deep, penetrating poeticism. Memento is a portrait of a rose. It is up close and sensual, its petals pushing forth like a velvet fist opening.
