Asian Diasporic Zodiac: Water Rat Archival Print artist-books work your way up toThe Water Rat is a part of my Asian Diasporic Zodiac, in which I reimagine the Zodiac animals as if they were informed by diaspora and the landscapes of Turtle Island North America. This series is inspired by conversations with my Taiwanese mother. The rat is associated with the season of winter and the north, but also dynamic yang energy. So it felt fitting to draw the Water Rat after the frozen waterfalls near Sleeping Buffalo (Tunnel Mountain).
