Its a semi oxidized oolong, traditionally known as one of the Four Famous Bushes () of Wuyi rock tea, alongside Da Hong Pao, Shuixian, and Tie Luo Han. The name Rougui means Cinnamon, not because it contains any, but for its natural cinnamon like aroma and gentle spicy sweetness. The cultivar is believed to have originated in Zhengyan, the core growing
