It was one  of the first two Colorado maps that I painted with the intention of having it professionally photographed for reproductions

I painted it using thin washes of acrylic paints that allow the map to show through. I painted the background first, allowed it to dry, then traced out the Zia symbol, painted that and then added the gold raised spiral to the center of the Zia.
