The card itself is pretty good too: it's a cheap, conditional removal card for Lifegain decks, though Black is already flooded with superb targeted removal like Snuff Out, Malicious Affliction, Go for the Throat, etc

Green does have some sources of card draw not related to creatures, and those cards are some of the most powerful in MTG
