This is my only four-drop evasive card, but the card advantage of the discard which forces people to play around it combined with the easier to block something like Hypnotic Specter makes this worth the addition

It's just one more mana than Gilded Lotus but this is better - it's more artifacts for those decks that care about artifacts, it's indestructible, it can tap for multiple colors of mana rather than just one, and so forth

basically all of the decks cheap cards either ramp to set up the more expensive ones or loot to fuel the reanimation theme
